The company, perhaps unsurprisingly given its history, had a mixed year. It admitted as much alongside these numbers, describing 2007 as a 'period of both advancement and frustration’.
After picking up acreage in Sudan and Ethiopia the firm announced, alongside these results, that it had taken a 49% stake in CAMEC’s interests in Kenya. It also said, however, that no progress had been made in securing exploration rights on Block Ba in Southern Sudan.
Chairman and former England spin bowler Phil Edmonds says: 'We remain frustrated with the situation in Southern Sudan but are confident of our position and entitlements.'
In response to the results the share price ticked down to around the 36p mark.
Shares says: Until there is clarification in Sudan it is hard to identify any reason to invest. AVOID
